Lammas (Continued)

Pieter Brueghel de Jongere, "Resting during the Harvest" (det.). You can enlarge the picture by clicking on it.

Today I pulled a card for a second day in a row to celebrate Lammas.

One of the themes of this holiday is being thankful for the harvest there already is, the first wheat-crop (see yesterdays entry). My question for today is: "What to be thankful for this summer?"

Arthurian Tarot, "sword knight"

Each knight in this deck has a special time of day at which he is best. The knight of swords specialty is dawn. Here he sets out at dawn. You can see the haze on the hill and in the distance that  belongs to this time  of day.

This knight is very brave. He brings into the light what is hidden in the night, for instance fears or unrecognized abilities. I started my blog in the end of june. The blog is my harvest this summer that I am thankful for. My fear was (and is) that it gives me too much pain to keep it up, but here I am, I wrote a few sentences every single day.  Thereby I confronted my fear; I was brave, just as the knight.  That I am able to do this, although it does hurt , and is hard some times, is an unrecognized abiltiy that came into the light.
