Nativity Scene

I searched for paintings today to use as illustration for a spread called “The angel of December”, a monthly spread of 'the angel of the month' for my website. To this spread belongs a visualization (imagination) and I wanted also a picture for that part. In the visualization you are meant to go back to the holy night, to the stable and its inhabitants, to the peace of that special evening and place. I looked through many beautiful and famous paintings of the nativity scene, but to my astonishment what fitted best was a picture that comes from a children’s bible. It was situated on "Christian Clip Art".

The only disadvantage of this picture is that the ox and the donkey are missing, in the visualization I suggest that they might talk, because animals can talk during the holy night.
