Lutheran Parish and Tarot

I had a lovely afternoon in the Lutheran parish in Leeuwarden, where I held a presentation about tarot and God. I also read for them. They could ask: "What helps me in my life now?" or "Where do I meet God?" I red with the RWS, Inner Child, the Arthurian Tarot, Osho Zen and the Tarot of Saints. Great fun to do this.

There were -of course- a few critical questions, but not dogmatic right-wing people one cannot communicate with. I was utterly relieved that they were not there. They had been there earlier in the series I was invited in, but they were asked to leave, and had not been back since.

At the end of my presentation I was given a candle with the symbol of their parish on it, lighted on the Easter-candle, representation of the light of Christ in their church; a moving gift and moment.

Then there was an Evensong, in the same circle of chairs as were I held my presentation (this was in the church itself); that was a wonderful continuation. And everyone stayed, which was also special. The war in Libanon and the longing for peace, was the subject of sermon and prayer. In this way the afternoon was not only about our own individual lives, but also about the world, in the hope that both will made whole, and rest in the hand of God.

And as if this all was not enough yet, after the Evensong we had a very rich potluck-meal, where we talked about dieting!
