Twelve Days of Christmas, Ninth Day, Evergreen Day

This day in the Twelve Days of Christmas is called ‘Evergreen Day’, an invented day by John Matthews, author of the Winter Solstice, the book I use. During the holiday season evergreen is used widely. Evergreens show us that although everything is bare and dead outside, there is still life going on.



The spread of this day consists of one card that shows us our evergreen quality, the quality we can always count on, even in very difficult circumstances. 

                           

Mine is Little Red Cap. I can count on lightning up when I wander free –not in the woods– but in the city, browsing through second hand bookstores.
