Brigit's Cross

I’ve tried to weave a Brigid’s cross all day. Traditionally this cross is made from straw.

I use it as an activity in a workshop about Candle mass. Straw is too much of a hassle. I ended up using strips of handkerchiefs made of cotton. I rolled the strips between thumb and index finger to make them look like yarn, and then wove them into a cross. I am satisfied with it. I think they will look nice, especially when the strips have different colors.

While I was cutting strokes at the kitchen table coen_wesseland Lauren baked an applepie. School is starting again tomorrow.
