Light in darkness

“When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”
Micah 7:8

What is the light for me today? I have pulled the Lovers from the Buddha Tarot. An important theme of the Lovers card is choice; going for what you love. On the card we see Siddhartha (the later Buddha) who leaves his wife Yasodhara and their child because he feels his life is shallow and vain. He hates it to leave his wife and child and does not dare to say them goodbye.

I cannot help being drawn to the woman and the child on the card. That is where my interpretation must be based on. They are so peacefully asleep. Tomorrow my daughter goes for an introduction to the secondary school she wants to attend. She is very excited about that, and we as well. It is a step in growing up. While sitting in darkness, the image of the peaceful sleep of mother and child, and peacefulness itself, is the light for me today.
