Monday, Fourth Week in Lent

I’ve read today the passage in John in which Jesus refers to his miracle of multiplying of bread and fish to feed many, many people. He mentioned this in a boat on which he and his disciples were. They had only one loaf of bread with them and the disciples worried about that. Jesus wondered if they had not seen him multiplying bread and fish. The one loaf was not a problem. Jesus said to him: “Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?” My question of today is: “What is it that I do not see and do not hear?"

I have pulled Eight of Pentacles from the Whimisical Tarot. On the card a boy looks up from reading a big book in a room full of books and tools to brew magical substances. The boy reflects my circumstances. The boy is in my eyes disappointed, thinking: “Must I study still more than I have already done? I have studied so much. Does my studying do not bear fruit?” The eyes and ears of the boy, and those of mine, do not trust that the miracle of multiplying will happen (the magical tools allude to that). Maybe it happens in another way that we expect, or even it happens in the same way.
