Dark Goddess Spread, Card 7, Healing

The card I have pulled today from the Dark Goddess spread (by Christine Jette) shows what needs to be healed for growth to occur. I have pulled Four of Wands from the Fairytale Tarot. The card is based on the tale of the Musicians of Bremen. This tale is about four animals who are old and will be killed by their owners and run away because of that. Therefore they run away. The four of them scare away a bunch of robbers in a house in which they want to live by standing upon each other.

There are many themes in this card: being handicapped, being or feeling old, finding a new home, being assertive, celebration of a transition, working together. It is hard to choose. Making my home, celebrating this particular point in life, that is what I choose. That is what will heal me.

Dark Goddess Spread, Card 8, Crone's Wisdom

The card pulled at position eight of the Dark Goddess spread is called Crone’s Wisdom. It is the advise card. My advice is the shown by the Three of Cups from the Fairytale Tarot, based on the tale of the three princes.

These princes stick up for each other. Well, I should stick up for my self, not picking myself apart so much. That is not helpful. I did not choose it as the interpretation of the Four of Wands (the Musicians of Bremen), the previous card in this spread, but that is a theme of that card as well. Four old and handicapped animals work together to scare a bunch a robbers away. Celebration, is another theme of the Three of Cups, and also of the previous card.

Dark Goddess Spread, Card 9, Transformation

I have arrived at the last card of the Dark Goddess spread. I skipped days in my blog because I did not like the spread and found the cards difficult to interpret, so I am glad that this is the last card. This card is the possible future. It shows the gifts of the crone that are still in the dark.

I pulled many cards while I was in Driebergen, and when I went home, I put the cards that I had drawn back in the pack. The result is that for this position I have pulled a card that was already in the spread. It is the Empress, based on the fairytale about Cinderella. The Empress is a mother card. This card accentuates that the spread revolved mainly around me being a mother of a new teenager and me growing older, coming in new phase of life. One of the reasons that I did not like the spread was that this theme was so prominent. Often I thought…not again…cannot be THAT important…is it? There are other things on my mind!? What the card exactly tells, what the future holds, I do not know, but it has to do with me in the role of mother.
